On the following pages you will see photos documenting the lives of the Lakoff family from its beginnings to the present. I hope that you will enjoy the memories evoked by these pictures.
This picture of Bobby (Robert) and Ellen was taken around 1947, at Val David.
My dad captured this tender picture of Ellen kissing Kenny in 1946.
Above right: Here is a picture taken in 1949, of Ellen (L), Bob (top) and Kenny (R) around Carol (in chair)
Here are the twins, Michael (l)and David in front of our house at 833 Pratt, when they were around 4 years old.
This picture was taken in 1957 by a professional photographer. Notice the expression of delight on the faces of the boys. Left to right, front: David, Carol, Michael Back: Ellen, Albert,Freda, Robert
This is one of the rare pictures of Kenny alone. Kenny was born in 1946 and died at Christmas time in 1953, having been hit by a truck. This was the first of several tragedies that struck our family.

Here we have David, Ma (Freda), Mike, with Carol above. We are in the living room of our home on Pratt Avenue, around 1957. (I remember receiving the dress I was wearing for my ninth birthday.)
This picture was taken in the summer of 1958. I love the memories it evokes of our summer home in Val David.

The Chalet (on Mt. Royal) was a favorite site for family outings. Here is Bob with his little brothers, Dave (l) and Mike.
This picture, taken in 1959, brings back memories of the beach at St. Agathe. The picture was marred by a double exposure which I was only partly successful in correcting. |
